Occupational Therapy Schools in Delaware

Wesley College is the only occupational therapy school in Delaware, which provides entry-level master degree (MOT). Along with this, the Delaware Technical Community college offers an associate degree in Occupational therapy Assistant.

Occupational Therapy in Delaware-

Delaware is a small state but offers a better workplace for occupational therapy professionals. Like other states, Delaware also has an occupational therapist association.

The Delaware Occupational Therapy Association represents the profession of Occupational Therapy to the public of Delaware. The Association also promotes access to OT services, foster research, and study of OT.

Occupational therapy license in Delaware-

The Board of Occupational Therapy Practice issues licenses to occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants, including temporary licenses.

Follow the steps to apply for the occupational therapy or OTA license in Delaware-

  • Pass the entry-level master degree
  • Pass the NBCOT examination
  • Submit an application for Licensure as an OT or OTA.
  • Pay the required fees. Occupational Therapist – $194 and Occupational Therapist Assistant – $68.
  • Complete the Criminal History Record Check

Wesley College-
Wesley’s entry-level occupational therapy master’s degree (MOT) program has received Candidacy Status by the  ACOTE of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).

The Wesley College’s OT program was started from Fall 2016. The college accepts application through the OT Centralized Application Service (OTCAS).

  • 3 letters of recommendation, one from an OTR
  • Applicant interview if required.
  • TOEFL scores For International applicants.
Pre-requisite Course work
  • Human Anatomy and Physiology with lab;
  • English;
  • Statistics;
  • Physics or Human Movement (i.e. Biomechanics and Kinesiology; or Exercise Science courses);
  • Sociology or Cultural Anthropology;
  • General Psychology;
  • Abnormal Psychology;
  • Developmental Psychology or Life Span Development or Human Development.
