The Pennsylvania State has 16 ACOTE accredited Occupational therapy Schools which provide an entry-level master degree or Doctoral degree. Plus, the state also has 11 ACOTE accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) Schools which provides an associate degree. Occupational therapy in Pennsylvania-

The occupational therapist, Occupational therapy assistant, and OT/OTA students have their own state association, i.e. POTA (Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Association).

The POTA is a non-profit volunteer organization which provides a professional community for its members. The POTA is a state-based professional organization and public voice for the occupational therapy profession in Pennsylvania.

The main role of the association is to promote the occupational therapy profession, create public awareness, provide support to the therapist in continuing education and improve and maintain the quality of occupational therapy profession in the state of Pennsylvania. The POTA is an affiliated state body of the American Occupational therapy association.

Occupational therapy License in Pennsylvania-

Occupational therapist and Occupational therapy Assistants are required to get a license from the State Board of Occupational Therapy Education and Licensure.

Temporary OT/OTA License:

 A temporary license to practice as an occupational therapist (OT) or as an occupational therapy assistant (OTA) may be granted to persons who have completed the educational and experience requirements for licensure and are waiting to take or receive the results of the certification examination. #10 Salus University

The OT school at Salus University emphasizes interdisciplinary perspectives, critical reasoning, the value of occupation, and professional development. The OT school offers a Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy (MSOT)

The OT Department also offers two post-professional programs for registered occupational therapists. The first is a Doctorate of Occupational Therapy (OTD) degree and the second is a Specialty Track Certificate, which provides advanced content and clinical expertise in selected specialty areas.
Additionally, a Ph.D. degree in Biomedicine is available at Salus University, which an interdisciplinary program is designed for health professionals seeking graduate research training and/or an academic career track.

Salus University has a joint agreement with other universities like Drexel University and Arcadia University.   • Three letters of evaluation are required. (1 letter from an OTR regarding your work, shadowing, or observation experience; 1 letter from a teaching faculty member; 1 letter must be written from a person with authority (i.e. faculty, work supervisor, OT professional, etc.) regarding your work.

The Occupational therapy school at University of Scranton offers a five-year, entry-level Master of Science degree program in Occupational Therapy (OT). Students usually enter this program as freshmen, proceed through 4 years of undergraduate study, receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences, and are awarded the M.S. in OT degree upon completion (4+1 format). The OT school has applied for entry-level OTD program. But, the application is under process and yet to receive the candidacy status from ACOTE.
